New Horizons' Super Mario Warp Pipes Are Brilliant

It's incredible how tiny tweaks and additions can make all the difference in the world in some games. As shown by its recent Super Mario content update, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one such game, because its implementation of classic Warp Pipes is brilliant.

Of course, we did expect for warp pipes to be a cute addition to the game, but the community has definitely taken things to the next level. Down below, we'll explain how to use the Animal Crossing warp pipes, give you a few tips and tricks on where to start, and showcase some examples of what you can do with them!

How do Animal Crossing Warp Pipes work?

Using warp pipes in New Horizons is easy! All you need to do is to have two of them available, plop them both down wherever you see fit, and you'll be able to warp between them when needed. It goes without saying that this can be a huge time-saver if you're smart about it.

The thing to keep in mind, of course, is that having more than two warp pipes in place will randomly choose the one to teleport you to.

Getting warp pipes isn't hard, either. Just open up Nook Shopping and check the 'Special Goods' section under the 'Promotion' tab of the store. There's a bunch of cool Super Mario furniture available there, of course, and one of them is a single warp pipe.

Naturally, you'll need to get at least two to actually use them, and each will set you back a hefty 5,000 Bells. If you're wondering if these are even worth the asking price, prepare to have your mind blown by the next section...

What can You do with Warp Pipes in Animal Crossing?

Teleporting around the island to reduce unnecessary foot traffic and speed things up is the ultimate function of the warp pipes, but leave it to the Animal Crossing community to figure out even better, more inventive uses for this incredible tool.

Andrew Goldfarb of Sucker Punch, for example, placed one warp pipe over in house house, and actually carries the other in his inventory. That way, he can access his entire pantry whenever needed, as well as jumping back to his house without needing to run around the whole map to do so.

Accessing hidden areas and building transit stations around warp pipes is another obvious choice, and down below, you'll find a number of cool builds that the rest of the community has come up with.
