Animal Crossing: New Horizons - August Update incoming!
The end of the month is almost upon us, and that means the inevitable Animal Crossing New Horizons August Update is also close-by! That's right: your favorite Switch game is just about to get a major new content drop, and we've got virtually no idea what that includes! Sure, that's kind of annoying, but we don't mind because our excitement about a potentially game-changing August update is immense.
Granted, that very well could lead to disappointment if the update turns out to be a glorified hotfix, but we'll deal with that once we get to it! It's Monday, and today we'd like to talk about this New Horizons August Update. We'll discuss what we know about it, and try to discover what Nintendo might drop without so much as a warning!
As ever, though, do keep in mind that most of this article is almost pure theorycrafting. Keep a pinch of salt at hand and all that!

What else might be coming with the August Update?
Now that we've put verifiable facts behind us, it's time for the fun part! You'll be happy to hear that there has been a number of datamines and suggestions from Nintendo themselves on what might (or might not) be coming with the New Horizons August Update. The list is surprisingly long, much like the list of fish getting added next month, and covers features both technical and otherwise!
We might be getting the fabled Island Save Data Transfer, finally
Those of you who've kept track of Nintendo's official comm channels may recall that, in February, the company put out an official announcement regarding the Island Save Data transfer procedure. This would allow players to move their New Horizons progression from one Nintendo Switch to another with minimal hassle: something that's not easily possible right now! Since February, however, there's been absolutely no word on this feature: Nintendo has been mum. One of the previous updates, however, included references to messages that would appear during this procedure, and it appears the option is still in production!
We're not 100% positive that Save Data transfer is coming with the August Update, but we wouldn't say twice that it won't drop, either!
The New Horizons Dream Suite has been all but confirmed
Determined data miners have also discovered references to a very important returnee character from previous Animal Crossing titles: Luna! For those who aren't familiar with Luna, she's the NPC in charge of the series' special Dream Suite feature, which allows players to "dream" about other players' towns and customizations without actually visiting them "physically".
Dream Suite allows you to explore other players' towns and whatnot without requiring of you to actually go out and befriend them. Not to mention that you don't need to wait for them to be online and available, either! All in all, a great feature, though there's no telling if it will drop as part of the August Update.
We might get new vegetables, too!
You read that right: data mines have pointed us towards the eventual availability of tomatoes, carrots, and other popular vegetables in one of the upcoming updates. Could it be that a whole slew of farming additions and features will be coming with the August Update? Don't take this as an absolute confirmation, of course, but it would definitely make sense for Nintendo to add new vegetables before... y'know... Fall and Winter seasons.
Is there any way of knowing for sure what the New Horizons August Update will bring?
Ah, no, no way of knowing what's 100% coming, we're afraid! Do keep in mind, however, that Nintendo has officially announced that we'd be getting a second major Summer update soon. The first one had swimming, which was pretty dang big, so we anticipate for the second one to be rather significant, too! As we've said several times now, however, it may very well turn out to be that the August Update is a simple hotfix focusing on bugs, exploits, and other important issues.
Should that turn out to be the case, the additions and features mentioned in this article won't be permanently postponed, though! They're coming, we know that much: the only thing left to see is when, honestly.
Soon as the update drops, we'll have a summary and a guide available right here at AC Runway, so stay tuned. In the meantime, why not check out the awesome drip we've got available for download? Some of it is sure to tickle your fancy, right? Have fun!
