High Fashion and You: Latest from Prada, Louis Vuitton, and more!
As ever, there's a lot going on in the high fashion industry, no matter which niche you might be looking at. It's a busy world, really, and it's pretty difficult to stay on top of things on a day-to-day basis, unless you're actively making an effort to do so!
Now, sure, we're all about Animal Crossing: New Horizons and its own specific brand of fashion, but as you probably know, we also try to stay on top of the latest developments in streetwear and fashion. After all, these are the items that are coming out as customization options on AC Runway every Sunday! To that end, today we decided to showcase the latest offerings from both Louis Vuitton and Prada. It's a pretty interesting pick of all sorts of niches, and we're sure you'll find something to suit your tastes - whatever they might be!
Aside from the latest high fashion collections, we've also got a few extra entries that you might be interested in. More on that towards the end of the article, however.
Prada is now into Bucket Hats, but don't scoff yet
You may or may not know, but Chinese Valentine's Day is coming up on the 25th of August this year, and Prada is all about that. Featuring easy-going pastel colors and a variety of classic, yet eye-catching designs, their latest signature collection is a perfect combo of fashionable and utilitarian, and it'll look good virtually anywhere and everywhere. Aside from the usual pick of bags and various other inventory expansion slots, Prada has opted to make a collection of unique - branded - bucket hats! There's no mistaking these for some other brand, as they come brandishing the emblematic triangular plaque front-and-centre, as well as being graced with Prada's classic logo that we all know and love.
From white all the way to soft-pink, if you're looking for fashionable (but useful) wearables of any sort, chances are that Prada's latest collection has what you need. Find the capsule on Prada's official website!
Louis Vuitton SS21 Collection is not afraid of making a Statement
The vast, vast majority of items we talk about in our fashion-focused articles can relatively easily be translated into a format that works for Animal Crossing. Whether it's a sundress or a jacket, most of it works just fine! The Louis Vuitton SS21 Collection, though, we reckon won't parse well in this regard. The popular fashion company has leaned heavily into the stranger side of the industry with their latest offering, and it's nothing of not striking. We must admit that we doubt the practicality of some of these combinations, but we'd be lying if we said they weren't eye-catching!
The SS21 Collection itself is helmed by Virgil Abloh, one of the most prolific designers you'll find nowadays. His intention for this capsule is quite admirable: "I hope to lead by example and unlock the door for future generations. … It’s my desire to imbue the traditional codes of luxury with my own progressive values," he said. "Nuance, like sarcasm, can be difficult to understand."
The designs featured in Louis Vuitton SS21 are a mish-mash of previous years' clothing, overstock textiles, and ideas that had never previously come to light. Presumably, they also had a stock of plush animals at the ready as well.
How about a Fashion-themed Adult Coloring Book?
If the main banner for the article threw you for a loop - good! That was the intention, after all. The artwork is taken from a uniquely interesting project, though: a coloring book dedicated specifically to 8 major fashion houses! A fascinating look back, and a commemoration of iconic houses' history and evolution, this coloring book is now available as a free download for anyone interested.
The project has been headed by Minnie Muse, a multimedia company held by Colby Mugrabi, and the artist and designer Sarah Coleman. "The objective of the project," says the official listing, "is to provide a means of creative escapism and nostalgia, while inspiring all end users to explore familiar brands and mediums in an imaginative and engaging fashion."
No complaints from us! In fact, we'd love to see more projects similar to this one, because they celebrate the rich and layered history of the fashion industry in a truly interesting and innovative way. Can't top that, really!
Wrap-up!
It's not often that we feature fashion and projects as eclectic as we had today. It's been a strange and busy couple of months, though, so it fits that fashion would follow suit! You can expect more highlights from both the streetwear and the high fashion worlds in the future - right here at AC Runway. Who knows which of these pieces might make their way into New Horizons, after all.
Speaking of which, did you know that someone recently hacked Money Trees to grow all sorts of stuff in Animal Crossing? Including Star Fragments, we kid you not! You can find lots of info about that particular problem in our recent update article, as well as some interesting datamines and whatnot. It's good stuff all-around, we're telling you!
