Animal Crossing: New Horizons 1.6.0 Winter Update Changelog
It was just a few days back that we published a sort of a Winter Update hype post celebrating the upcoming content update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Whaddayaknow, Update 1.6.0 is now out, and it's brought a heap of goodies, features, and interesting tidbits to play around with.
Just below, you'll find the full patch notes for Update 1.6.0, but the vertical slice is simple. We've got two awesome new events in front of us: Turkey Day and Toy Day, and they'll be bringing Franklin and Jingle NPCs respectively. There are home storage capacity increases to earn, all-new Reactions to... well, react with, and a slew of cosmetic items to enjoy during the holiday season.
Winter Update Changelog: New Horizons Patch 1.6.0
- New seasonal events, Turkey Day and Toy Day, along with Franklin and Jingle.
- Nine new Reactions—Sit Down, Wave Goodbye, Take a Picture, Sniff Sniff, Work Out, Yoga, Here You Go, Excited, and Ta-da.
- Players can visit Resident Services to put in a request to increase the capacity of their home storage.
- Luna can now offer random dream destinations by selecting the “Surprise me” option.
- Six new hairstyles.
- An option to expand the player's storage from 1,600 to 2,400 items.
- Support for Save Data Transfer, which allows island save data or a single player's save data to be transferred to another Nintendo Switch.
- Four new seasonal items available from Nook Shopping in December—two in the Northern Hemisphere and two in the Southern Hemisphere.
- Additional Nook Miles redemption items.
- Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.
- Additional DIY recipes that use seasonal materials.
- Additional Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp collaboration item.
- Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.
- New Year's-themed items.
- Players can now visit random dream islands.
- The NookLink mobile app now allows players to view their catalog.
A hefty update, and there's more coming down the line, too. There's been word of a big Pavé-themed update come January 2021, though, as always, take that with the tiniest pinch of salt. You never really know!
