Animal Crossing New Horizons Winter Season: Updates, Events, & Content Galore
The upcoming New Horizons Winter Season is nothing if not one of the most exciting updates Nintendo has had cooking for us yet. Now, our goal for today is to get you up-and-running with some of the information that is absolutely, positively crucial for the upcoming Winter Season Update.
To that end, you'll learn when does Winter Season start in Animal Crossing New Horizons, what sort of novelties the end-of-year update might bring, what its patch-notes might fix, and heaps of other exciting stuff. All bundled together in one to-the-point article, of course. Keeping that in mind, let's just jump right into it and get you acquainted with what's coming in the near future.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Winter Season Start Date
Naturally, the update release date comes first. According to a combination of datamined information and official announcements, we're definitely looking at a late November launch. Predictions put the release window sometime before November 26th, but there's no specific information just yet. With this in mind, it's also worth pointing out that it will start snowing in-game on December 10th. This will give you a bit of a buffer zone between the start of the Winter season and the actual festivities, so we suspect that gathering new ornaments and goodies for your island won't be that big of an issue. Great news for the more casual player, we suspect!
What about the Harvest Festival and Franklin?
Fret not: New Horizons Harvest Festival is still going to happen, courtesy of Franklin the Turkey. It is currently predicted to kick off on the 26th of November, and community experts suspect that we're looking at a cooking and farming oriented event in particular. Considering the festive context, we suspect that this is a very valid expectation.
Toy Day Celebrations with Jingle
Aside from Franklin, we've also seen Jingle the Reindeer make an appearance in November promo materials. Of course, Jingle leans more heavily towards the Christmas side of holiday season festivities, and his particular event - the Toy Day - will almost certainly start on the 24th of December. This will likely entail some type of gift-giving activities.
Naturally, both the Harvest Festival and the Toy Day celebrations will come with their own sets of furniture and neat little goodies to set up around the house. Whether you pursue both or just one of them, the good news is that they're neatly spread out, giving you more than enough time to gather the stuff you want to keep.
New Horizons Winter Update Patch Notes
As you can probably imagine, we currently have no access to any sort of New Horizons Winter Update patch notes. These usually come out after an update's been released, so as to ease us into things with a grand overview of all the changes that have been made. No such thing yet, of course, but we'll keep our ear to the ground and push out updates soon as something comes out!
Any theories on what might be coming with the Winter Update, though?
Oh we've got a few of theories in mind! Cooking, for example, would be a perfect fit this time around. As we said before, there's no way the Harvest Festival comes out before the cooking update, so we've got a strong suspicion that this will be one of the main features of the Winter Update.
If you recall, the earlier Halloween update introduced a limited version of this feature. Mostly focused on pumpkins, of course, but we did feel like it's a bit of a dry run for a more comprehensive set of cooking features. Since cooking has been a long time coming, we've got no problems with this!
Then there's the stuff related to two events we mentioned above: both the Harvest Festival and Toy Day are bound to introduce heaps of new items to collect. We expect an even more comprehensive set of items and goodies over the Winter Season in general, too, though there's no telling what else might or might not make the cut.
Don't forget to dress for the occasion!
