Latest Animal Crossing News: New Seasonal Items and a Comic Book!

E3 2021 is coming fast, and as we await more news from Nintendo on what's next for their flagship Animal Crossing franchise, we do have a few exciting things to share in the meantime.

Namely, the first order of business is that New Horizons has just received a cool new batch of previously announced items. Aside from the game's snazzy Wedding Season selection, you can also look into getting some Father's Day items, as well as a few regional curiosities, curtesy of the Dragon's Boat Festival and Dano Festival.

Further, Nintendo has finally shared more information about the upcoming Animal Crossing: Deserted Island Diary comic book. We've got a proper release date, pricing information, and a better idea on what the manga will look like once it's out in western territories. Find all the pertinent information - below!

Wedding Season in Animal Crossing: Purchasable Goodies & Other Items

As we mentioned above, while there aren't many truly new items added to the mix for June, this is a great chance for players who may not have been playing the game last year. Or, perhaps, for those who decided to skip over some of these collectibles on their first go!

First, there are the Wedding Season items:

  • Nuptial Bell - 4,500 Bells
  • Nuptial Ring Pillow - 2,200 Bells
  • Nuptial Doorplate - 1,400 Bells
  • Flower-Petal Basket - 1,200 Bells

Then we've got a fine selection of Father's Day items:

  • Thank-You Dad Mug - 500 Bells
  • Thank-You Dad Apron - 1,100 Bells

If you're interested in joining the currently ongoing Asian-territory festivities, you can also log into Nook Shopping via your NookPhone (or the Nook Stop terminal). Then, visit the 'Special Goods' menu for the following items:

  • Festival Zongzi - 1,000 Bells
  • Surichwi Tteok - 1,000 Bells

These items have been released to honor and celebrate the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival and the Korean Dano Festival, respectively, so they're bound to be of particular interest to that cross-section of the community, we feel.

Finally, we've got two extra-lovely hand-made items to increase awareness of the International Children's Day:

  • Handmade Crown - 300 Bells
  • Handmade Cape - 600 Bells

Do note that the Children's Day items will leave the store after June 15th. If you'd like to collect them, make sure to do so over the next two weeks or so!

Deserted Island Diary Localization Launch Day

Finally, we now know for sure that the Deserted Island Diary manga is prepared to go live in western territories of Europe and US on September 14th! Having previously hit the ground running in Japan last July, this cutesy retelling of the New Horizons storyline is a hefty chonker, sitting at a neat 128 pages in total.

Provided that you're in luck and end up securing a purchasable copy of the Deserted Island Diary, it won't set you back a really significant amount, as the official MSRP is a mere $9,99. Collectors are bound to grab this one fast, though, so stay on your toes!

If you'd like to catch a preview before committing to this particular purchase, you may be happy to hear that you can check out the first couple of pages of the manga using the official Barnes & Noble website.

Have fun!
