New Horizons' burgeoning Turnip economy is at it again! As you may or may not recall, it was just a few months ago (in August) that Hellmann's held their special Turnip Donation Event for a good cause. A wonderful gesture that they had been making a habit of already at that point, but we certainly didn't expect for them to give it another shot just a few months later! That's right: it's December, and it's time for us to donate all of our spoiled Turnips yet once more!
To be specific, the Hellmann's Turnip Event isn't up just yet - we'll explain in the following few sections when, exactly, will it be going live and what it is that we the players need to be doing. The bottom line is delightfully simple though: every spoiled Turnip players donate is a real meal Hellmann's donates to FareShare. Christmas is coming, after all, and what better time is there for us all to pull together and help those who are less lucky? Find all the details below!
When is Hellmann's December Spoiled Turnip Event going live?
First order of business, if you'd like to learn more about Turnip farming nuances and necessary specifics, our previous article has got you covered. We put that one out as part of Hellmann's previous August Turnip Event, so it's pretty darn relevant still in most regards. From learning about the significance of Turnips all the way to the ways in which you, too, can profit off' reselling them, there's just about nothing else you could wish for.
Back to the topic of start and end-times for the upcoming Turnip bonanza, Hellmann's December Turnip Event is going to take place from the 14th 'till 18th of December. During that time, you'll have the opportunity to turn virtual Turnip waste into very, very real meals for those who need them the most. The specifics are slightly different that they were the last time around, mind!
How to donate Spoiled Turnips this December?
Now that you know when the deal will be going live, you're probably wondering just how on earth are you supposed to donate your Spoiled Turnips in the first place. It's easy! Your first order of business will be to shoot a DM to @HellmannsUK via Twitter and ask for their 5-Star Island's unique Dodo Code. You'll have the chance to do so every day of the event starting at 2PM GMT, and then, all you need to do is to head on over to their island and give them all the Spoiled Turnips you've got.
Each Spoiled Turnip that gets dropped off will essentially guarantee two meals donated to FareShare in the United Kingdom, which is a lovely upgrade to their previous events of a similar kind. Once more, there is a cap to the amount of meals Hellmann's will donate: 50,000 over the course of the entire event. That basically means that, if players wish to cap this one out and get as many meals to those who need them as possible, they'll need to donate a grand total of 25,000 Spoiled Turnips to Hellmann's official island. All you need to do is not to sell Turnips within one week of purchasing them. Just let them lay where you stored them and get them nice and juicy before the 14th for a burst of donations right off the bat. Sure, you are losing out on Bells if you decide to participate, but that's a small price to pay for such a wonderful cause. Let's get to it!
