Animal Crossing: New Horizons Events 2021 - What Might Be Coming?
For some time now, Nintendo's been pretty quiet about their future plans for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While we've got no doubt that one of the biggest Japanese game development houses has got big things in store for New Horizons, we can't help but wonder what those big things might be.
To better facilitate our excitement for New Horizons, and to foster some of that hype in you, too, we've created a comprehensive list of New Horizons events 2021. Or, at least, of those events that we're reasonably sure will be making a return compared to 2020.
The reason we're interested in creating this list is because the return of Bunny Day. Namely, it was far less of a drag this time around than it was back when the game first came out.
It's pretty sensible, we feel, to expect for more event tuning from Nintendo where needed.

That's quite a heap of cool ongoing stuff, isn't it? We've sourced these events from the phenomenal AC Fandom page, so huge kudos to their community for all their hard work!
Keeping these in mind, you'll have no trouble coordinating your playtime across the whole year in New Horizons.
Old Animal Crossing Events We Haven't Seen Yet in New Horizons
All of the above combined with cool Nook Shopping mini-events makes for a compelling reason to keep logging into the game week-in, week-out, but that doesn't mean there's not other stuff from Animal Crossing's past that we'd love to see in New Horizons, too.
Down below, we've chosen three historical Animal Crossing events that we're hoping Nintendo re-implements into their latest and greatest AC offering!
Flea Market Day
Present in Wild World and City Folk titles, Flea Market Day was a unique event taking place on every first Saturday of the month (except for January and August) when players would have the chance to both buy and sell all sorts of items and furniture at randomized prices.
More specifically, NPCs would enter your home and ask to buy fancy items from you, while giving you the chance to set the price to whatever you feel was appropriate. You could do the same to other villagers, too, and the randomized nature of the event led to some cool organic situations and brought the villages to life.
Bright Nights
An almost entirely cosmetic event, Bright Nights was a Wild World February special where all the villagers decorate their houses with fancy bright lights and then vote on whose house is the nicest of them all.
At the end of the event, one of the villagers (or the player!) gets the unique Bright Star award, and it lasts them the entire year. Truth be told, this is merely a neat bonus, as the main draw of Bright Nights was always its extension of holiday cheer well into the new year.
Yay Day
Another purely fun addition, Yay Day was yet another Wild World event we'd love to see translated to New Horizons too.
The gist of it was that everyone would go around complimenting one another all day long. Doing so in a particularly masterful manner would improve your character's relationship with the villager you successfully complimented, adding a bit of a neat gameplay twist to the whole ordeal.
Players could even insult villagers, if they felt like it, though there weren't any real consequences for doing so. Perhaps that's something for Nintendo to work out in New Horizons?
In other news, though it's been a whole year since New Horizons first came out, it's still dominating the charts. At least, that's the case in the UK as of late. It's hard to argue against Nintendo magic, we suppose!
