Animal Crossing: New Horizons December Content Overview

We've got a small update for you today, but a very important one nonetheless! Nintendo has finally launched an official preview trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons December content, and it's a hoot. The main highlight here is - obviously - the awesome new trailer, though there is a few extra goodies to keep in mind, too.

We'll go over these novelties below, but first, check out the trailer if you haven't yet had the chance!

Now that you're up-to-speed, let's get on with it.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons December Content - What's coming?

First order of business are the cool new bugs and other catchable creatures that have begun to crawl, fly, swim, and generally exist on your island paradise. Naturally, we can't have that, so it's best if we head on out with a bug net and catch them all. It's like Pokémon, except less about combat, and more about abject capitalism. Gotta keep Nook's Cranny in business somehow, right guys? Guys?

Toy Day has also been taking place for some time now. Having kicked off on 1st of December, it's going to run all the way 'till Christmas morning, so you've got plenty of time to collect all the colorful dinosaur toys your heart could ever desire. We've got a short guide on what to keep in mind and what the item prices look like right here, even, so be sure to check it out if you're interested. The thing to keep in mind is that Jingle the Reindeer will stop by on the 24th for a special gift-giving event. We bet this is going to be a cool celebration, so make sure you log in on Christmas Eve, even if you don't catch the time to do so before.

More generally, your Island's bound to get a festive look over the coming days. Setting the snowy goodness itself aside, certain trees are going to grow ornaments, for example. These can, in turn, be shaken down, collected, and then turned into awesome ornaments all of your own that you can use to deck your island out to the max.

Last, but hardly least: we've got our own selection of wonderful winter clothes for you to check out and download, right here at AC Runway. From ugly Christmas sweaters all the way to stylish longcoats, rest assured that we've got just the thing to spice it up this Winter season.

Is that all that's happening in New Horizons' Holiday Season?

While we're sure Nintendo has got a few tricks up its proverbial sleeves, their goal for New Horizons December content seems mostly be to deliver a chill and relaxing experience. We're big fans of longer-lasting events, especially with how quickly Turkey Day came and gone, so you won't hear us complaining about a month-long event! That said, we do understand if some expected a heftier content drop, so to speak.

One thing that's curiously been missing from any December preview we've seen so far is New Year's celebrations. We think that might bring about a whole bunch of excitement down the line. In the meantime, we've got plenty of toys left to collect, and heaps of NPCs to mingle around with. Isn't chill gaming specifically what Animal Crossing is all about, anyway?
